چکیده

This paper suggests that the measurement of error between mesh surfaces that are similar can be performed more time-efficiently than the existing methods offer. We presume that evaluation of error between similar surfaces does not require so many sample points and two-way distance measurement. Also we apply a different technique for sample point picking that involves barycentric coordinates. Tests versus other methods show that our method performs faster in cases of identical and similar surfaces, but also produces a less precise result. Thus, it is considered to be effective in applications that do not need precise measurements, like fast detection of flaws, deformation or overlapping areas.

A Technique for Reconstructing Shape of Specular Surfaces

Various techniques for measuring 3-D shape of an ob"ject which use optical information haw been developed. R u t the ohject IS assumed to have diffuse surfaces in most studies In this paper, we describe a technique for reconstructing 3-D shape of ohjects which have specular surfaces based on ~cornctric relations between positions of point light sources and directions of the light reflection fro...

An Intelligent Non-Trial-and-Error Design Method for Double Screen Frequency Selective Surfaces

An intelligent design method of double screen frequency selective surfaces (FSSs) is addressed in this paper. The employed unit cell is composed of two metallic screens, which are printed on both sides of a substrate. The presented non-trial-and-error approach is investigated based on the separate design of each screen. With the help of some physical intuition and an equivalent circuit model, i...

A Feasibility Study for Measuring Accurate Chest Compression Depth and Rate on Soft Surfaces Using Two Accelerometers and Spectral Analysis

Background. Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) feedback devices are being increasingly used. However, current accelerometer-based devices overestimate chest displacement when CPR is performed on soft surfaces, which may lead to insufficient compression depth. Aim. To assess the performance of a new algorithm for measuring compression depth and rate based on two accelerometers in a simulated re...

Use of Zernike Polynomials and SPGD Algorithm for Measuring the Reflected Wavefronts from the Lens Surfaces

Recently, we have demonstrated a new and efficient method to simultaneously reconstruct two unknown interfering wavefronts. A three-dimensional interference pattern was analyzed and then Zernike polynomials and the stochastic parallel gradient descent algorithm were used to expand and calculate wavefronts. In this paper, as one of the applications of this method, the reflected wavefronts from t...
